The Saranac Chain of Lakes refers to six inter-connected lakes and ponds dominated by the wild and pristine waters of Lower, Middle, and Upper Saranac Lake. These historic waters are accessible from the HK dock located near the Sara-Placid Inn and Suites, or we can meet you at the Lake Flower Boat Launch.
Once you pick up your boat rental, head into Oseetah Lake where the Lower Locks connect to Lower Saranac Lake. Paddlers and boaters alike may access these waters, so boating speed around the locks is posted. The Upper Locks connect Lower to Middle Saranac Lake. Boat around islands offering camping and day use areas, dock for a picnic, cast a line to go fishing, or go for a swim.
Upper Saranac Lake is only accessible via canoe carry. Motor boats cannot access this lake from HK Waterfront.

HK Waterfront offers a fleet of fishing boats, pontoon boats, kayaks, and stand-up paddleboards (SUPs) for rent at our Saranac Lake location and Kayaks, SUPS and SUP Yoga at our Lake Placid location. All HK Waterfront Rentals include a Type 2 approved life jacket for each person on the vessel, and all personal watercraft renters are required to wear a life jacket. Our life jackets are available in assorted sizes, from infant to XL.
